David has been a member of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, Workers' Compensation Section since 1970 where he served both as Secretary and President. He has been a member of the Executive Council of the Florida Bar Worker's Compensation Section and is past treasurer and member of the Executive Board of Florida Workers' Advocates, an organization he founded in 1989. He is also a past member and Chairman of the Moot Court Committee of the Florida Workers' Compensation Institute.  

David has lectured to numerous organizations since 1975 including the Dade County Bar Association, Florida Bar Association, Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, University of Miami and Miami Dade Community College. As an adjunct Professor of Law at St. Thomas University School of Law, he enjoyed teaching workers' compensation to aspiring law students. He was one of the first to become and remains a Florida Bar Board Certified Workers' Compensation Lawyer. He has represented in excess of 6,000 claimants in workers' compensation cases and has over 1,000 trials credited to his experience. David is past President of Friends of 440, Inc., and has served as a Trustee of the organization for as long as he can remember.  

David spent his early years in Washington D.C., but has been in Miami since 1953. He attended the University of Florida, 1963-65, and was a member of Tau Epsilon Phi. He served on the executive council of same as well as serving as Undersecretary of Finance of the University student body. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Miami, graduating with Honors in 1967 and received his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Miami School of Law in 1970, graduating near the top of his class. David was admitted to the Florida Bar Association and to practice before the Supreme Court of Florida in 1970. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of the United States of America. 

David and his wife Donna, have three daughters; Mindi, T.J. and Dani. David's hobbies are golf, yoga, fishing, guitar, auto racing and motorcycling.
